Economic Vitality & Fiscal Reform of Government
Mission

The Economic Vitality & Fiscal Reform of Government Committee focuses on the connection between how revenue generated from the local economy supports and sustains local government and the community-based organizations. It seeks to understand government spending.
Specifically, this committee looks at long term liabilities, such as public employee pensions and health care, which have significant impacts on the government’s general funds. When reforms are not implemented, general funds can be depleted which then requires bond and sales tax measures as well as other new revenue sources which can be detrimental to economic vitality. This committee keeps a close eye on these possibilities and studies reforms and best practices.
Activities and Accomplishments
Recently, this committee sat down with the County Administrators from both Marin and Sonoma to discuss economic issues within the North Bay region. This particular Good Government Get-Together was both insightful and yet another way in which North Bay Leadership Council is working together to get things done!
