Working Council
Mission
The Working Council serves two purposes in supporting North Bay Leadership Council’s Board of Directors. It serves as the “idea factory,” brainstorming ways to improve the North Bay region. It also serves as the workhorse, preparing items to bring before the Board of Directors for approval. It explores regional business issues and develops strategies and recommendations for the Board of Directors. The Working Council provides the forum for more detailed discussion, research and policy formulation.
Activities and Accomplishments
The North Bay Leadership Council’s Economic Insight is prepared by the Working Council bi-annually. This Insight provides region-specific economic data to aid members and other community leaders to understand the economic status of the North Bay region and understand the economic trends forecast for the upcoming year. The Economic Insight is presented at a breakfast event in May and November. The Working Council is also responsible for NBLC’s signature event, the annual North Bay Leadership Awards. This event highlights and educates the public on the generous resources that NBLC members as well as other business entities return to the community, and the ways in which the quality of life is enhanced through economic vitality in the North Bay region.
